Janely (Jaanika Leino) is a Finnish artist, singer, and songwriter with an international career. She creates music with passion, delivering it with a powerful sound and captivating stage presence. 

Since 2008, Janely has shined as an international recording artist, bringing her charismatic personality and strong, dynamic voice to numerous concert stages of all sizes. Her performances include live TV appearances in Finland and internationally, such as at New York Fashion Week, where she has performed multiple times past 4  years 2023-2026.

In addition to her music career, Janely has also appeared in numerous TV shows, the most recent of which include the adventure reality series “Viidakon tähdet” ( “Stars of the Jungle”) (2023) that’s on discovery plus and was aired on TV5 in Finland. Also her own travel reality show “On the Road with Janely” (2023) that was aired on INEZ TV in Finland,

Comedy show “Sampo ja kotivideot” that’s on Disney + and was aired on STAR CHANNEL in Finland. Janely has also made her debut as an actress on 2 films that are coming out 2026 and 3rd one is in making.

Janely is also highly active on social media, where her song videos have gained significant traction, particularly on TikTok and Instagram.

Versatility in Music

One of Janely’s greatest strengths is her versatility. She performs across multiple genres, with her primary focus on Pop, R&B, and soul.

Over the years, she has released several songs, with one of her most successful being the Latin pop track “Work Me Right”. Released in May 2020 in collaboration with the American-Finnish producer duo Mass Mercury, the song hit #1 on Finland’s iTunes Reggaeton chart and Top 3 on Latinos Unidos’ DJ Charts (Latin Pop, August 2020). The track and its remixes also reached the Top 5 on international DJ charts six times. “Work Me Right” was picked up by radio stations in over 50 countries, including the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Another notable release is her single “Don’t Give Up, created in honor of Mental Health Week in Finland. She was featured in a live interview on the TV show “Good Morning Finland” and became the face of the campaign. The song, inspired by Janely’s personal experiences with discrimination, is dedicated to those facing mental health challenges. Its music video emphasizes the campaign’s theme—the importance of being seen and acknowledged.

In 2025, Janely released several songs, including “Finished Here”, which features Whitney Houston’s nephew, Gary Michael Houston. She also performed at Brooklyn’s Music Kitchen last summer together with Gary and his band, The Outfit.

A Bold Leap to the U.S.

In January 2023, Janely made a bold decision to visit to the United States for months. With only one contact in her pocket, she set off to build connections in the music industry and explore new opportunities. Just two weeks later, she called her mother with life-changing news—she wanted to sell her apartment in Finland and officially start planning to stay in New York in the future, and so she did. 

Determined to make the impossible possible, Janely now has a full team in New York and is currently working on her debut album. Her new music has already made an impact; her song “Clown Like You”, released in October 2024, amassed 1 million streams in just 10 days on AudioMack.

Other Talents & Creative Work

Beyond music, Janely is a highly skilled makeup artist, having worked on theater productions,fashion shows (both in Finland and New York), weddings, music videos, and films. Despite not having formal training in the field, her talent has impressed many professionals, leading her to work on major projects.

She also ventured into voice acting, making her debut as Jacynda in “Barbie: Epic Road Trip”, released on Netflix in November 2022. She provided the Finnish-language voiceover for the role. Janely has experience in acting, having performed in multiple musicals and cabaret shows in Finland. She also wrote her own children’s play, “Fairies’ Magic”, which was staged at the Puuhapark theme park for three consecutive summers. She starred in the production as the main character “Fairy Princess Kara”, performing over 250 shows between 2021-2023.

Additionally, Janely is a graphic designer with expertise in photo& video editing, photography, and visual media.

She is also an experienced event host, having hosted numerous events across Finland.

Modeling Career

Janely began modeling at the age of 10. After taking a break, she made a comeback to the runway at New York Fashion Week in February 2023. Since then, she has walked for multiple designers, further establishing herself in the fashion industry. With her unstoppable drive and versatility, Janely continues to build an impressive international career, leaving her mark across multiple creative fields.
