Janely

Janely (Jaanika Leino) is a Finnish artist, singer and songwriter with an international career, who makes music with a big heart, which she presents with great sounds and great stage charisma.

Since 2008, as an international recording artist, Janely's charismatic personality and powerful strong voice have entertained and shone on numerous concert stages of all sizes, including live TV performances in Finland and internationally also e.g. At New York Fashion Week, where the singer has already performed several times 2023-2025.

Janely has been involved in numerous TV shows over the years, with recent highlights including Viidakon Tähdet 2023 (“Stars of the Jungle”) (Discovery & TV5), Sampo and Hauskat Kotivideot 2025 (Sampo & Funny home videos”) (Star Channel & Disney+), Huomenta Suomi (“Good morning Finland”) 2024 (MTV & Katsomo), as well as her own show “Janelyn Matkassa” (“Janely’s Journey”) which aired on Inez TV in 2023.

Janely is also heavily featured on social media channels and Janely's song videos have gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram, for example.

One of Janely's great strengths is her versatility, and she sings many different genres,

but her main genres is pop and rnb and soul.

Janely has released multiple songs during years, one of the most succefull has been a Latin Pop track 'Work Me Right', in May 2020 with American-Finnish producer duo, Mass Mercury. The song hit number one on iTunes Reggaeton genre chart in Finland and Top3 on Latinos Unidos' DJ Charts (Latin Pop / August 2020). The track and its official remixes also reached Top5 six times on international DJ Charts. 'Work Me Right' was picked up by radio stations in more than 50 countries including the United States, Brazil, United Kingdom and Australia.

Also worth mentioning is her single "Don't give up" and it's music video made in honor of Mental Health Week in Finland. She got interviewed on live tv show "Good morning Finland" and she was the face of the campaign. The video highlights the theme of Mental Health Week: the importance of being encountered and seen.

The song "Don't give up" stems from Janely's personal experiences of being discriminated against. The song is dedicated to all those living with mental health challenges.

Her latest single “Finished Here” features Gary Michael Houston, the nephew of Whitney Houston, and Janely is also one of the lead vocalists in Gary’s band, The Outfit.

OTHER CAREER:

Janely is very experienced makeup artist. She has done make-ups for theater shows, fashion shows (in Finland and New York), wedding make-up and hairstyles, as well as more demanding make-ups, e.g. to music videos and movies. Despite the fact that she has no training in the field, her skills have been convinced by many professionals and therefore she has been able to do big projects.

Janely also started her career as voice actress and her debut role was "Jacynda" in "Barbie Epic Road Trip" - movie November 2022, for Netflix. She made the voiceover in Finnish language.

Janely’s first profession is graphic designer, so she makes her visuals and cover arts mostly herself.

Janely has also experience of acting, she has done multiple musicals in several theatres and cabarees in Finland. She also wrote her own play for kids called “Fairies magic” which could be seen in the theme park "Puuhapark" for 3 consecutive summers. He played the lead role in a musical and did more than 200 shows over three summers 2021-2023.

Janely has a lot of experience of hosting too, in several events all over in Finland. And at the moment she is starting her own podcast. It will come out 2025.

Janely started modeling on age 10, and after many years break she made her comeback to runways in New York Fashion week February 2023, and since then she’s been walking for multiple designers.
